NYC fire station 55, lost 3 fireman on 9/11
This was a wonderful trip to NYC which is a city I love. We all had a wonderful time and I got to share my enthusiasm for the city with family. What could be better than three generations of family.
Three of the pictures above were taken at the 9/11 World Trade Center site.
During our stay we went to Tavern On The Green, which in spite of being considered by some as just a tourist place, it was a lovely old restaurant. Jim and I had been there each time we were in NYC so we were glad we were able to share it with family before it went away.
TOTG was originally built in1871 as a “sheepfold” for the sheep meadow.
TOTG opened as a restaurant in 1934 and closed in 2009, but has reopened April 24, 2014. During the current renovation walls have come down, the glass enclosed Crystal Room which was built in a 1974-76 renovation, has gone away.
